Ang Lee, a famous Taiwanese director and once winning his first Oscar Best Director Award for Brokeback Mountain in 2006, won Best Director again for Life of Pi in this year's Academy Awards. He is so humble and talented. As a Taiwanese, we are all so proud of him.
80% of this movie was shot in Taichung City, a central city in Taiwan, and a lot of special effects were put together by Taiwanese staff. This movie could broaden the horizons of the Taiwanese staff involving in making this film and could bring their professional skills to a higher level. People here on this island all held our breath while watching the live broadcast of the Oscars on Feb 25, Taiwan Time, and crossed our fingers for Ang Lee. Upon the annoucement of the winner, I believe almost everyone here was thrilled with tears in his/her eyes and joy just like me because Ang Lee pulled it out.
